Ranger Web - Intro Animation from Krystian Morgan on Vimeo.

Ranger Web - Intro

Intro movie for the Ranger Web DotNetNuke screencast series at www.DNNRanger.com.

Music not by me.

This will be the last but one short intro movie that I’m gonna publish for a while. After the next video it’s going to be back to the weird, crazy and nonsensical shorts that I want to make. Expect possible even some live action short narritives in the future which will be produced alongside creating my animated feature. To keep my video sharp.

Other Workings and Youtube Account

bullets

This is from another project not Porbeagle as there’s no guns in the script. This was created by creating a path in Illustrator then using the lathe tool in 3D and texturing using only the built in gradients and noise for bumps which I’m pretty happy with. I copied from a photo and think I’m definitely getting better at texturing from playing around a lot, which is a bit of a relief.

So I started a new Youtube account the other day. I’ve made a start uploading some of my videos from Qemic.com (just looking for all the big files on other hard drives). i’ve always had a scepticism of youtube, and a hypocritical one too because I regularly watch videos there, but a scepticism about publishing videos there. I never thought that the sort of abstract video experiments I had been making were a bit too out there for 14 year old myspace kids, and really couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. I’m trying to broaden my mind as suspend judgement before using it for a while as there is some great content on youtube and great content that is solely on youtube.

Here’s my channel, please subscribe or friend me: Qemic Youtube

Also earlier in the week on the train home from work I had a story idea that I liked and scripted 9 pages of that story upon arriving home. I think it’s quite good, very different from Porbeagle, it’s more of a black comedy and the dialogue’s a bit snappier. It’s been good practice for the first week of May which is my writing retreat week (and birthday) at my caravan to tune up everything.

Yoast - Intro Animation from Krystian Morgan on Vimeo.

Yoast Screen Cast Intro

Here is an intro video i produced for the new Yoast Screen Casts. The first episode went live recently so i thought i’d post it up. The video introduces the general concept of Yoast.com and the new screen casts, improving your site = more traffic. Capping off with a 3d logo animation and colourful light – background.

Today’s the 27th of August 2010, which is an important day for me.. as it is a year since committing to making my feature film. I’m at a place with it at the moment where everything is going to plan, and i will start hitting it full steam ahead after the script consultation. I’d like if possible to get the character/location designs and voice actor recordings all done by 2011. It’s a bit ambitious.. but we’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned for the new film site launching on October 1st this year. It will promise to have alot of cool updates with a minimum of 1 post a week (likely more on certain weeks though). This year and the next should be fun.

The Hills Have Eyes - Title Sequence Project (2008) from Krystian Morgan on Vimeo.

The Hills Have Eyes - 2007

Wow, I was just checking through my old uni videos and I realised I never actually posted this on the blog. This was the very first title sequence project I worked on, I uploaded it to blip on Jul 16, 2007 09:50am. It was also the first video I created in After Effects. It consisted of prepping some A4 sheets with brown crumpled strands and coffee stains, charcoal drawing frames from the 1966 Wes Craven movie, scanning/stitching them together in Photoshop and animating the big canvas in AE.

I remember enjoying writing the audio on my acoustic guitar and recording it in garageband, playing around with various effects to get something ominous.

Hope you like if you’ve not seen it, it’s pretty old now, but kinda fun.
